About the project

The project involved the construction of a new 50ML service reservoir and the upgrading of pumping facilities on the outskirts of a north-west Queensland city. The project works included:

  • 50 ML reinforced concrete reservoir
  • pump station building extensions
  • pipework and valves
  • additional pump sets
  • new flow meters
  • electrical upgrade works
  • roadworks
  • control system upgrade.

BDR role

BDR Projects was appointed as project manager and owner’s representative across all levels of this multi-million dollar project.

During the design phase, BDR Projects managed the investigation, detailed design and documentation processes for the project works. BDR Projects compiled tender documentation, called tenders and managed procurement processes through to award of contracts.

During construction, BDR Projects continued to act as owner’s representative and managed all aspects of supply and construction contracts through to final completion. BDR Projects also planned, supervised and managed commissioning of the facilities and systems.

Outcomes

BDR Projects successfully managed the entire project in accordance with all cost, time, quality, environment, health and safety and other parameters and enabled completion within baseline requirements.
