About the project

One of the world’s largest gold deposits, located in New South Wales, consists of both underground and surface expansion works. The project covered the mine development, underground crushing and conveying as well as underground infrastructure.

BDR role

BDR Projects was engaged to provide all contract management and contract administration services, replacing another group, for the surface process plant and underground material handling, as well as other surface and underground infrastructure.

BDR Projects led the integrated BDR/client contracts team and provided strategic planning, guidance and contract services input.

The BDR Projects contracts team inputs included all aspects of contract management including integration with cost control processes, resolution of contractual claims and contract close-outs.

Outcomes

BDR Projects was able to positively optimise the contracts team performance, thereby significantly contributing to successful project delivery and provided contracts team resources to overcome skill shortage issues.

BDR Projects assisted the client to attain a high performance contracts team capability in a demanding contracts environment.

The joint BDR/client contracts team made a significant contribution to the project outcomes. BDR Projects also established key contracts for ongoing operations requirements.
