About the project
The $900 million project involved construction of a rail unloading station, coal stockpiles, outloading facilities, marine berth, and shiploader at a major Queensland port.
BDR Projects provided procurement and contract management services to form contracts for out-loading facilities and marine works. The process was undertaken while substantial technical and commercial requirements were still evolving.
BDR Projects managed a re-tender process following changed project parameters, ensured the tender process adhered to rigid probity guidelines, developed, managed and implemented a detailed tender management plan, and led negotiations on behalf of the Principal’s team.
BDR Projects provided specialist contract management services to complete negotiation of contract terms and conclude formation of a contract for design, fabrication, delivery and assembly of a shiploader.
Services included lead negotiations, compilation of contract documentation and formation of contracts.
BDR Projects successfully developed and implemented strategies to overcome deadlocked contracts for this project.
The tender process for the berth was successfully completed within time constraints and with a strong endorsement of probity compliance, which was a critical factor for the Principal.
Contract management for the shiploader was completed in a cost efficient and outcome focused manner.
