About the project

The client undertook a substantial programme of rehabilitation works on multiple sites in Victoria to comply with the EPA, local authority and other stakeholder requirements.

Design requirements existed for all environmental and civil aspects to complete capping works and other rehabilitation requirements for all sites, at various stages of operation as landfills. Delivery of the programme of works required careful planning and implementation in respect of project delivery model, engagement of designers and contractors and preparation and implementation of management plans for all project delivery aspects.

BDR role

BDR Projects was engaged to plan and implement delivery of the project. In liaison with the client, BDR Projects undertook a review of project scope, objectives and other requirements. BDR Projects recommended the preferred model of delivery for the substantial programme of works.

BDR Projects was tasked with the implementation of all aspects of a project delivery for the programme of works. That included formation of the owner’s team (substantially comprising BDR experts) and implementation of all aspects of design management, procurement and contracts management, construction management and project controls (including budget, cost, schedule and risk) and reporting.

Outcomes

BDR Projects managed the formation and implementation of the project delivery model and integrated owner’s team for well-planned and controlled project delivery.

That included the preparation and agreement upon all key project baseline measures within a short time of engagement for planning and implementation of the project’s delivery. This resulted in a comprehensive plan for delivery of the project for the client.
